Menorca’s best sunsets are in the west, where the sun goes down over the sea: Punta Nati lighthouse and Artrutx lighthouse, facing Mallorca. In the south, the Cova d’en Xoroi turns it into an evening with music in a cliffside cave, and in the north and centre, Cavalleria lighthouse and Monte Toro give the widest views.
Punta Nati lighthouse
15 minutes from Ciutadella, the sun sets over the sea in front of a 1913 lighthouse surrounded by dry-stone walls. In July and August, at sunset, you go up by shuttle bus from Ciutadella.

Artrutx lighthouse
At the south-western tip, next to Cala en Bosc, with Mallorca opposite on clear days. It has a free car park and, afterwards, the Cala en Bosc marina for dinner.

Cova d’en Xoroi
Terraces hanging off the Cala en Porter cliff to watch the sunset with a cocktail. It opens from April to late October, and sunset tickets sell out in summer: buy them on its website.

Monte Toro
From Menorca’s highest point (358 m) you watch almost the whole island change colour. The Sa Posada del Toro bar opens daily from May to October and only at weekends from November to March.

Cales Fonts, for afterwards
In the east you won’t see the sun set over the sea, but Cales Fonts, in Es Castell, is the liveliest place for an evening stroll, with dinner by the water.

Sunset tips
Arrive half an hour before sunset, bring a layer even in summer and a torch to get back to the car. In December and January the sun sets around 17:30.
