Menorca’s three most famous southern coves look alike —white sand, turquoise water and pine woods— but feel different. Macarella has a beach bar and, in summer, can only be reached by bus or on foot; Cala Turqueta has no facilities and its car park closes when full; and Cala Mitjana is a walk from Cala Galdana, which has every facility.

Choose Macarella if…
…you want a beach bar and the option of a 10-minute walk to Macarelleta, and don’t mind taking the bus: from 1 June to 30 September you can’t drive there.

Along the Camí de Cavalls: Cala Galdana to Macarella takes about 45 minutes, and Macarella to Cala Turqueta another 45. Mitjana lies the other way, 20–30 minutes from Cala Galdana.
