Menorca or Ibiza? The differences to help you choose

Choose Menorca if you want unspoilt coves, nature and calm: it has been a Biosphere Reserve since 1993 and much of its coast is undeveloped. Choose Ibiza if you want parties, clubs and nights that end at dawn. Both have coves with turquoise water; what changes is the pace of the trip.

The differences at a glance

Menorca is quieter, more family-friendly and more natural, with coves you walk to; Ibiza is more festive and lively, with beach clubs and some of the best-known nightclubs in the world.

Beaches: unspoilt coves or lively coves

Menorca stands out for its undeveloped coves, protected as natural areas, such as Macarella, Turqueta or Pregonda, which you reach on foot or by bus. Ibiza has many coves with beach bars, sun loungers and music.

In summer several Menorca coves restrict car access: it is all in summer access. To choose yours, read the best beaches in Menorca.
