Four days are enough to cover the four sides of the island without rushing: the east with Maó, the south-east of Binibeca and Cales Coves, the north of Fornells and the lighthouses, and the west of Ciutadella with the southern coves. With one base in the centre or two nights at each end, no drive takes more than 50 minutes.
Day 1: Maó, La Mola and Cales Fonts
Day one, the east: the centre and markets of Maó in the morning, La Mola fortress above the harbour mouth in the afternoon and dinner by the water in Cales Fonts.
La Mola fortress costs €8.25, paid at the ticket office only. Start in Maó and the Mercat des Claustre, and finish in Cales Fonts, 8 minutes away.

Binibeca Vell is open to visitors from 10:00 to 22:00. Sunset tickets for the Cova d’en Xoroi (April to late October) sell out in summer. Cales Coves is about 20 minutes from Binibeca by car.

Where to stay on a 4-day trip
With a car, a single base in the centre (Es Mercadal, Alaior or Ferreries) keeps everything under 30 minutes. Without one, two nights in Maó and two in Ciutadella, linked by a bus every 30 minutes.
What each area offers, in where to stay in Menorca; without a car, in where to stay without a car.
