If you would rather not walk because you have small children, a pushchair or a lot to carry, Menorca has beaches with parking next to the sand: Son Bou, Cala Galdana and Es Grau are the easiest. The most famous unspoilt coves require a walk, but Cala Turqueta is only 10 minutes from its car park.
Beaches with parking next to the sand
Son Bou has free parking along almost 3 km of sand, and Cala Galdana has public car parks in the resort, paid in season. At both you leave the car and are on the beach in a few steps.
- Son Bou: the longest beach on the island, on the south coast, with room even in August.
- Cala Galdana: shell-shaped, calm water and restaurants, sun loungers and kayaks all around.
- Es Grau: free car park at the entrance to the village, a few minutes from the sand.
The best beaches for small children
Es Grau, where the water stays shallow for many metres; Cala Galdana, sheltered and with every facility; and Son Bou, with fine sand and plenty of space. All three have bars nearby and no stairs to climb down.

Without a car: beaches with a bus stop
The L23 bus runs to Es Grau from Maó all year; Cala Galdana has a bus from Ferreries; and Cala en Bosc and Son Xoriguer are on the line from Ciutadella. In season, the L68 bus goes to Cala Turqueta.

Menorca without a car
Three days by bus and on foot: Es Grau, Ciutadella, Macarella, Cala Galdana and Cala Mitjana.
€€ €40–85 a day in Menorca
Unspoilt coves about 10 minutes on foot
Cala Turqueta is 10 minutes from its car park along a path through the pines, and Macarelleta is 10 minutes from Macarella. Cales Coves is about 15 minutes along a stony path and has no facilities.
The Cala Turqueta car park, with about 120 spaces, closes when full, around 8 am in July and August. Macarella can only be reached by bus or on foot from 1 June to 30 September. And at Cales Coves, wear closed shoes.
With stairs or a longer walk
Cala en Porter is reached down a flight of steps from the resort, and Cala Mitjana is 15 minutes from its dirt car park. Pregonda, 30–40 minutes on foot, is not for a pushchair.
If you are happy to walk a little more, Menorca coves on foot tells you how long each one takes and which way to go.
