Many of Menorca’s most beautiful coves have no road down to the sand: you walk between 10 and 45 minutes from a car park or along the Camí de Cavalls. These are the walking times, the type of path and what to bring, from the easiest to the longest.
10 minutes: Cala Turqueta and Macarelleta
Cala Turqueta is a 10-minute walk from its car park, and Macarelleta 10 minutes from Macarella along a path. They are the easiest and fine for children who already walk well.
Remember that Macarella can only be reached by bus or on foot from 1 June to 30 September, and that the Cala Turqueta car park closes when full.
15 to 30 minutes: Mitjana, Cales Coves and Presili
Cala Mitjana is 15 minutes from its dirt car park or 20–30 from Cala Galdana; Cales Coves, 15 minutes along a stony path; and Presili, about 20 minutes from Favàritx lighthouse.
The path from Cala Galdana to Cala Mitjana runs through the pine woods; the one to Cales Coves needs closed shoes.

35 to 45 minutes: Pregonda and the southern Camí de Cavalls
Cala Pregonda is about 35 minutes from Binimel·là, with no shade. Along the Camí de Cavalls, Macarella is about 45 minutes from Cala Galdana, and Cala Turqueta about 45 from Macarella.
The Cala Galdana–Macarella–Turqueta stretch is the busiest part of the Camí de Cavalls. We explain it in the best sections of the Camí de Cavalls.

What to bring
Water (in summer, at least 1.5 litres per person), food, a hat, sun cream and closed shoes: these coves have no facilities, except Macarella’s beach bar, and many paths have no shade.
Take everything home with you: many are in protected areas. If you are going with children, read Menorca with kids.
